H.E. Abdulrahman Al Awar Attends WRP Graduation Ceremony for 7th & 8th Cohorts

H.E. Dr Abdulrahman Al-Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and HCT Chancellor, witnessed the graduation ceremony of the 7th & 8th cohorts of a Work Readiness Program (WRP), offered jointly by HCT and Al Wasl University, that prepares UAE citizens for the labor market.

H.E. Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani, Special Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, H.E. Dr. Faisal Al Ayyan, HCT President & CEO, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Abdulrahman, Director of Al Wasl University, and a number of administrative and teaching staff members also attended the ceremony at the HCT- Dubai Women’s Campus.

The WRP currently has 242 students enrolled at HCT’s Dubai and Fujairah campuses.

The ceremony saw the graduation of 166 female students from the program at Dubai and Fujairah campuses in the specializations of office management, customer service, and information technology. The program equipped them with the skills necessary for the job market.

During the graduation ceremony, H.E. Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani expressed his delight at the achievement of the female graduates. He stressed the graduates underwent rigorous education and training programs, in public and private institutions, which equipped them with the skills and knowledge to excel in the labor market.

Emphasizing the importance of collaborations between various institutions, H.E. Al Raqbani highlighted the significance of creating employment opportunities for graduates, expressing his gratitude and appreciation towards the HCT and Al Wasl University for their contributions in the Work Readiness Program.

Dr Faisal Al Ayyan, HCT President & CEO, congratulated the WRP graduates for their commitment to pursuing education, enhancing their skills, and securing their positions in the job market. He emphasized that every citizen is a valuable asset and should take advantage of training and qualification opportunities to advance towards their desired future career paths.

He added that the graduates’ achievements mark the beginning of their journey, and they must strive towards continuous education and training to further develop themselves. He pointed out that job opportunities available are diverse, particularly in the private sector, as it seeks to attract National talent by providing competitive and promising employment opportunities.

Dr. Al Ayyan expressed his gratitude towards H.E. Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Al Wasl University, for his unwavering support towards the Work Readiness Program. He said the partnership reflects H.E. Al Majid’s dedication towards providing high-quality opportunities to enhance the capabilities and competencies of graduates, inspiring them to attain beneficial labor market skills. About nine WRP graduates were recipients of the financial grant provided by H.E. Juma Al Majid, being a monthly stipend of AED 2000 for each student who completes their studies at the HCT.

Dr. Al Ayyan emphasized the commitment of HCT, through the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research & Training (CERT), to strengthening its partnership with Al Wasl University and providing all necessary facilities and forms of support to ensure the WRP’s success and development.

The event also featured speeches from the graduates, who expressed their sense of pride in their accomplishments and their journey towards building their careers. They expressed gratitude towards Al Wasl University and the HCT for providing them with the opportunity to continue their studies.
